Lighting Restoration + Retrofitting

Given our expertise in building light fixtures using time-tested materials and techniques, it was a given that sooner or later we would be asked to restore light fixtures of historic value. We have the ability to do large-scale full-service restoration (see the Portland Art Museum case study for a good example of what this means), going far beyond just cleaning and rewiring.

Our capabilities and experience:

• Conducting research as needed to assure historic accuracy of restoration (or replication)
• Disassembling and cleaning all parts
• Stripping paint and old finishes from metal pieces
• Duplicating missing components
• Refinishing metal parts
• Replacing missing glass globes and panels, etched glass and art glass
• Replacing all electrical components, rewiring
• ETL listing / UL 1598
