Lighting Restoration

With our expertise in building light fixtures using time-tested materials and techniques, it was a given that sooner or later we would be asked to restore light fixtures with historic value. We have the ability to do large-scale full-service restoration (see the Portland Art Museum case study for a good example of what this means), going far beyond just cleaning and rewiring.
Our capabilities and experience:
- Conducting research as needed to assure historic accuracy of restoration
- Disassembling and cleaning all parts
- Stripping paint and old finishes from metal pieces
- Duplicating missing components
- Refinishing metal parts
- Replacing missing glass globes and panels, etched glass and art glass
- Replacing all electrical components, rewiring, ETL listing (UL specifications)
- Reassembling and testing
- Creating archival drawings
