"Customers see efficiency and function in environmentally friendly fixtures"
Sustainable Designs:
As consumers become more educated on the efficient lighting options available, they’re also asking more questions about how the fixture is made. Companies are looking to design and assemble fixtures in such a way that they can be taken apart easily. The goal is to produce fixtures that are well made, with recyclable materials such as metals, that consumers can maintain and use as long as possible.
Some lighting suppliers are responding by using sustainable materials, with an eye on tapping local supplies to minimize transportation and energy costs. For instance, Eleek Inc.’s Takashima family of fixtures addresses sustainability with high recycled content, as well as low-energy lamping and energy-saving features. Every Eleek light now comes with an LED lamping option.
